Today I went to Seoul Garden, my previous working place to have a cohesion with my colleagues. Originally they wanted to go to orchard outlet, but i told them that i could get a discount the bugis outlet. And after a few round of confirming, they finally decided to go to SG Bugis.

Originally, our reservation was at 1300, but since everyone came in private vehicles, we reached faster then expected. Imagine the difference between taking private vehicles and public transport. So taking the "aiya, there won't be so many people" attitude, I went there only to see the table set up already! I was very happy and wanted to go in already, but to my surprise, it was for another 30 people that was an hour late! Therefore I had to let the whole group wait for one and a half hours. I felt bad letting the wait, and therefore I tried to make their experience more fun!

I told them the little things to cook and how to preserve the hotplates so they don't trouble the people to change. I even cleared some plates for them. Suddenly you want to help them when you see them shorthanded. Sadly I was the role of the customer and i had to play that well. My friend wanted many serviettes and i asked him to take it at a drawer that customers shouldn't mess up with. I think i was wrong at that point, but still, both sides benefited.

I saw my 'shi fu', the auntie that taught me how to cook and talked to her. It was very heartwarming that she still remember me. She even talked about my mother as they were once colleagues(Yes my mother worked at Seoul Garden too!). It felt like a second home to me, and i wanted to help them earn more money by pushing a big group there. It was a place I learnt to cook, learnt to earn my way up, and learnt that tough times make a man, and a place that I found my loved one.

I'll miss that place.
