A MAJOR DEFEAT IS A THOUSAND LESSONS LEARNT - [e]Z 11:46 16/08/07

Today I suffered a Major defeat in basketball in a cohesion event held by my various companies. All of my team claimed to have played some form of basketball before. Together with me, I thought we were already born champions.

And when I knew there were 3 teams, I thought I could have just won them all.

However, the truth was I lost not just one, but both of them, we got trashed 30++ to 8. My friend who was on the other team just sighed when he saw me. He saw that I was already frustrated, but I didn't want to show it out. Neither did I leash it out by elbowing all the innocent people. I just stood there in defense, and hoping for a miracle to happen. There was even once, I just sat down at the 3 point line and watched them play. They just didn't want to pass to me. In fact, there were no more then 2 passes to a basket attempt.

Still, I think that was fair enough, as when I got the ball, I hogged it and waited for an attempt to drive. Solo effort, but it was the only thing I believed that could help us to win. In the view that they only wanted to have fun, but I just could not take the fact that it was a minor competition the level of competency was not there.

No screen, no runs. Playing basketball is nothing to do with individual effort. You can be the best, but your teammate must be at least good enough to pass you the ball.

Today I learnt:
1) Defense is very important. 1 person cannot defend 4 people
2) Organizing structure is very important. Roles must be clear.
3) Team work is key. Trust and belief must be there.

I think I better not play basketball in anywhere else that is not competitive, in places that they just want to have fun.

PASSION CAN DRIVE A MAN CRAZY.

chai chai [chahy-chahy]
Believed to have originated from the western province of Singapore by a man with 'the mole' in the early part of the year 2007.

noun
1- A lady what is above average looking above the age of 16.
2- A lady that is towards a man's liking.
3- A lady that is wearing distractingly less clothing and has attracted a bunch of perverts.

adjective
4- The process of being a chai chai
Today I'm going to wear a bit lesser and take more time to groom up, as so, they will call be chai chai.

Related words.
Gor Lei Chai - Cabbage in mainland taiwan language. Slang for a lady that is round.
Chap Chay - A group of ladies of different looks.
