The Singapore Marathon : 7h:10m:15s
AHM 21KM : 01:49:39.39
The math apparently don't seem to tally for the above timings.
21km X 2 = 42km
01.49.39.39 x 2 = not even five hours?
However, like every endurance run that I took part in, it gave me alot of inspirations about life, and gave me a glimpse of what humans are capable when they really want something.
I saw a blind man (clearly because he was blindfolded) being guided along by a lady with a guiding belt, a lady that dragged two tires all the way for the whole marathon and many many old men that came here to show what they got. Today I also managed to extend my endurance limit, pushing myself to walk, even if I could not run, for the last 21 KM (YES I WALKED A HALF MARATHON, for 5 hours!) In my process of walking, i found that many others that were walking with me, NONE of them took any shortcuts, even if the returning portion was just across the streets without any barriers, which saves them at least 2-3km. I even see some rejecting to walk over even if their friend requested them to do so. Then I fully understood, what it meant to have paid for what you get, a full marathon, and getting the finisher medal and the finisher T-shirt at the end of it. Even had you walked the whole marathon, the bragging rights are extremely amazing.
Today, if you participated in the SCM, you are an outstanding individual of outstanding endurance, and you should look at yourself in a different manner. It could be just because of a simple fact, you are not going to walk the way you used to this few days.
